The Windom Area girls hockey team put up a big defensive effort but couldn’t generate enough offense Friday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to Minnesota River at the Windom Arena.
The Eagles were outshot 60-19 in the game, but allowed only a single goal in each period to a strong Bulldogs offense.
Trailing 3-0 late in the game, the Eagles were able to end the shutout when Lyvia McManigle fired a one-timer into the net, after slick passes from Reagan Haugen and Ella Dockter.
Fiona Robillard finished the game with 57 saves.
