The Windom girls basketball team couldn’t overcome early foul trouble Friday night, as Jackson County Central claimed a 91-83 victory over the Eagles at Windom.
JCC was able to use a 9-0 run late in the first half to take the lead, then used another scoring run in the second half to re-establish the lead.
Meanwhile, Windom’s offense struggled to find continuity as it battled through foul trouble to three starters early in the contest and throughout the second half.
Haidyn Sammons paced the Eagles with 31 points. Adison Hogan scored a career-high 21 points. Hadley Sammons had 13 points and nine assists and Hannah Dauer added 12 points.

MLAC 35-25 = 60
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey capitalized on turnovers and outside shooting Friday night to claim its first win of the season.
The Wolverines scored 27 points off of turnovers and hit nine three-pointers on their way to a 60-40 victory over Red Rock Central at Mt. Lake.
MLAC broke the game open early, using an 8-0 run to start the game. The Wolverines then opened the lead up to 17 at halftime by turning defense into offense. The Wolverines forced 26 Falcon turnovers in the game, turning those into 27 points.
RRC tried to cut into the deficit in the second half by pounding the ball inside, but the Wolverines were able to extend the lead by forcing turnovers to create transition scoring chances.
Julia Brinkman led the Wolverines with 25 points. Ashlyn Pfeiffer added 12 points and nine rebounds and Khya Boldt added nine points in the win.
Tia Donkersloot led RRC with 13 points and nine rebounds. Paige Wondercheck added 10 points.

Wabasso 34-23 = 57
Red Rock Central couldn’t overcome a slow start Saturday, as the Falcons dropped a 57-47 decision at Wabasso.
The Rabbits hit six of their nine three-pointers as a team in the first half, establishing a 15-point halftime advantage.
RRC was able to battle back in the second half, getting the ball into the lane and getting to the free throw line.
Tia Donkersloot scored 13 of her team-high 19 points in the second half, while Kysha Wani added a career-high 12 points in the loss.
