Hot shooting in the second half and a late 10-0 run helped spark Luverne to a 92-86 win over the Windom Eagle boys basketball team Tuesday in Windom.
A back-and-forth game saw several lead changes in the first half and saw the game tied multiple times in the second half.
But Luverne used a 10-0 surge to take the lead, then used an 8-0 run later in the half to retain the lead.
The Cardinals shot 53% from the field, compared to 44% for the Eagles. Luverne also held a hefty 64-38 edge in points in the paint in the game and a 52-35 edge on the glass.
Quintin Tietz led the Eagles with a career-high 30 points, including nine three-pointers. Jog Ogeka finished with 18 points, Charles Erickson scored 17 and had 10 rebounds and Elliot Serreyn finished with 13 points.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey fell behind early and never recovered Tuesday, dropping a 64-51 decision to Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain in Comfrey.
The Jaguars closed the first half strong, using an 18-6 run to take the lead for good.
The Jaguars also held the Wolverines to 31% shooting from the floor for the game.
Aidan Olson led MLAC with 17 points. Landon Strom finished with 11 points in the loss.
