According to a gofundme.com post, the deceased party of the New Years Eve stabbing has been identified as 2014 Windom Area High School graduate, Benjamin Matter.
Benjamin’s mother, Sheila Matter Woelfel, stated that “my son was a victim on New Year’s Eve of a violent crime that took his life.”
“I (Shelia) am asking for help for Cara (fiancé), and his children, Aria and Brian. I’m doing this to help with expenses for the funeral and to help my daughter-in-law and Benjamin’s kids so they don’t have to struggle.”
Ben, and one other person yet to be identified, were allegedly stabbed at 11:47 p.m. at the Phat Pheasant Pub, according to Windom police. After being transported to Windom Area Health, Ben was pronounced deceased.
The details of the event and the name of the defendant have not been released as of Thursday morning.
