According to a press release from Windom Police Chief, Scott Peterson, on December 31, 2024, at approximately 11:47 PM, the Windom Police Department was dispatched to the Phat Pheasant Pub regarding a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 30-year-old Windom male and a 31-year-old Windom male had been stabbed with a knife. Officers assisted with rendering aid to the victims.
Officers located the suspect who witnesses said committed the act. A 26-year-old male, from San Diego, California, was taken into custody. He was treated for minor injuries at Worthington Hospital and is currently held in Cottonwood County Jail.
The 30-year-old male was transported to the Windom Area Health and after attempting life saving measures was pronounced deceased.
This is an active investigation, and more information will be released at a later time.
The Windom Police Department was assisted by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Lake Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Windom Ambulance.
