Windom Area High School will once again host the Windom Holiday Classic girls and boys basketball tournaments, beginning today. Varsity games will be in the Blue Gym, while B-squad games will be in the Gold Gym.
Action begins at 1:30 p.m., with boys teams in the opening session. BOLD takes on St. James in the first varsity game, followed by Windom facing Martin County West.
The girls tournament starts at 6 p.m. with Fairmont facing Glencoe-Silver Lake, followed by Windom against Martin County West.
All B-squad games will have the opposite schedule as the varsity games.
Between the boys and girls sessions today, there will be a girls WNBA Skills Challenge, a boys dunk contest and three-point contests for both girls and boys. Each team will have two players for each contest, with plaques presented to the winners.
Saturday’s action starts at 1:30 p.m. with the girls third-place game, followed by the girls championship game. The boys third-place game starts at 4:30 p.m., followed by the boys championship game. Again, B-squad games will be played at the opposite times in each session as the varsity contests.
At halftime of the boys championship game, the Windom Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held.
