William “Bill” Kuehl was born in Windom, MN on December 7, 1932, to Alfred S. Kuehl & Ina P. Kuehl (Wellman) & raised in Storden, MN. He met the love of his life, Betty L. Larson, at a baseball game when Betty’s twin sister swiped his baseball cap & threw it to Betty. Their love story then ensued. While courting, they would enjoy going to the movies, spending time with their families, working the family farm & rabbit hunting. William was deployed to Korea, serving in the U.S. Army March 23,1953 – January 5, 1955. Before he left for Korea, he had asked Betty to wait for him & asked her to marry him. They were wed after his return to the states on March 6, 1955.
William & Betty would move from the family farm in Minnesota & plant their roots in Michigan to raise their family. William’s career began with National Trailer Convoy, then to Transit Homes, Inc. & finally establishing their own business, becoming owner & operator of Kuehl Transport. William would operate his business until retirement in 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:30AM Monday, December 16, 2024 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 Maple Ave., Flint, MI.
