A sluggish second half on offense proved too much for the Red Rock Central boys basketball team to overcome Thursday as the Falcons dropped their season-opener 74-58 to Edgerton at Lamberton.
RRC was able to fight off an early 10-point deficit through solid outside shooting in the first half. RRC was then able to close the deficit to two points early in the second half before the Dutchmen went on a 20-2 run to put the game out of reach.
Henry Stavnes led the Falcons with a career-high 22 points, including six three-pointers. Stavnes scored 20 points in the first half. Finn Batalden added nine points in the loss.
