M. Wiley Smith, age 86, of Bloomington, MN passed away on November 29, 2024. Wiley was born on January 12, 1938 in Windom, MN to John and Alice (Muller) Smith. Wiley proudly served his country in the US Army. He taught Middle School Math for Edina School District for 29 years before his retirement in 1998. He was very active in his church, the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
Wiley is preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Mundy, son-in-law, Terry Mundy, and sister, A. Madeline (Lou) Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Suzanne ‘Sue’; daughters, Carol Mundy, Shari Sloane, and Kim (Gerald) Shepherd, several grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Heather) Smith, also by other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Saturday December 14, 2024 at Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 9100 Russell Ave S., Bloomington, MN 55431 with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM. A Masonic Service will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment, Pleasant View Cemetery, Burnsville. In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to Hillcrest Church, U of Mn Heart Clinic, The Humane Society or donors’ choice in Wiley’s name.
