Windom Area School Board heard a presentation from Tom Olinger from Abdo Solutions and the board also approved notice of two public hearings on proposed tax abatements, scheduled for Dec. 9.
Olinger presented information from the 2023-2024 school year audit by Abdo Solutions and he reported nothing out of the ordinary, which was good news for the district.
He said as part of the audit, they take a look at some of the major risk areas (state funding, tax fundings) and they reported a clean audit.
Olinger said one of the items they tested was child nutrition and there were no findings related to that.
Superintendent Jamie Frank said the report was positive.
“The district had a very positive audit with no findings,” she said. “Our state revenue came in slightly higher than estimated due to changes in legislation and our expenditures were less than estimated.”
