The Windom Eagle girls basketball team opened the 2024-25 season in strong fashion Thursday night, building a commanding early lead on its way to a 64-33 victory at Edgerton.
The Eagles jumped to a 16-1 lead to start the game and held the Dutchmen to just three made field goals in the first half. That allowed the Eagles to take a comfortable 20-point lead into the locker room.
The Eagles then started the second half strong, as the Eagles hit eight three-point field goals in the second half as a team.
Haidyn Sammons paced the Eagles with 17 points in the win. Hadley Sammons and Hannah Dauer each added 13 points.
