Mt. Lake Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner will be held Friday at Alliance Church.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner catered by One Way Catering beginning at 6 p.m.
Tickets are available for $50 at Care and Share and Ten Thousand Villages, Peterson Pharmacy and Gifts or from any Mt. Lake Area Foundation board member.
All funds raised go toward swimming lessons for children in Mt. Lake in 2025.
“We felt that we wanted to provide swimming lessons to any children that wanted to go,” said Wade Nelson, a Mt. Lake Foundation board member. “With the loss of the pool at the school because of the remodeling, now kids have to go out of town. We decided with whatever funds we raise, we’re going to try to get some transportation to get to a pool in the area and also pay the registration fee for them.”
Although all of the specific details aren’t known yet, the swimming lessons are for younger students (grades K-6) and they could potentially be transported to Jackson, St. James or somewhere nearby. The lessons would be offered through Mt. Lake’s Community Education.
