The Windom Area girls hockey team rallied from an early 2-0 deficit Saturday, opening the 2024-25 season with a 4-2 victory over Rochester Century/John Marshall at Rochester.
CJM jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening period, but the Eagles bounced back in the second. Ella Dockter got the Eagles on the board, firing a shot past the CJM goalie. Then, two minutes later, Doctor dished a pass to Kennady Dronen, who stuff a shot into the net for a game-tying power play goal.
With 5:28 left in regulation, the Eagles took the lead when Reagan Haugen scooped up a rebound of a Mataya Hall shot, sliding the puck into the net for a 3-2 lead.
Then, with 40 seconds left on the clock, Haugen iced the game with a goal off a feed from Dockter.
CJM outshot the Eagles 34-27 in the game. Goalie Fiona Robillard finished the game with 32 saves.
