A plan to bring border-to-border fiber broadband to Cottonwood County inched closer to a decision at a special meeting of the Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners Tuesday.
Troy Rasmussen, operations manager for Federated Rural Electric of Jackson, presented the board with plans to develop border-to-border fiber broadband to areas of the county not currently served by fiber broadband providers.
That would include all rural residences in the county, as well as residents of Mt. Lake, Bingham Lake, Storden and Jeffers.
The plan would essentially install a fiber ring in the county by the end of 2025, with line extensions following.
