James “Jim” Fay Thomas was born on May 3rd, 1941 in Windom MN to Leland and Maxine (Storey) Thomas. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up around the Jeffers area where he enjoyed working on anything with an engine. He got his education at Jeffers School, graduating in 1959. Jim met and married Sandi (Wallace) in 1963. The two were blessed with five beautiful boys. James, Ronald, Brian, Bradley, and Benjamin.
In his retirement, Jim loved going to auctions and different sales, where he always managed to find old antique items. He continued to travel these last few years with his special friend LeaAnn Mcdonald.
Jim passed away on Monday, September 30th, in Rochester, MN, at the Mayo Methodist Campus. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 26th, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Eagles Club in Fairmont. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Jeffers Cemetery.
