The Windom Eagle volleyball team ran out of gas Tuesday night, as a 2-0 lead evaporated in a 3-2 loss to Jackson County Central in Jackson.
The Eagles struggled on serve reception, had 11 service errors and struggled to regain their footing on offense after the first two sets.
Offensively, the Eagles were able to spread the ball around, as five hitters had six or more kills, but JCC was able to neutralize the Eagles’ blocking.
Hannah Dauer led the Eagles, going 17-of-17 with five aces. Ali Lund added four aces and Ember Struck had three.
Dauer finished with a team-high 12 kills. Sadie Tjentland had nine and Adison Hogan added seven.
Lund had a team-high 17 set assists. Haidyn Sammons had 13 digs.

A strong night from the service line propelled Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a 3-0 sweep over Red Rock Central Tuesday in Lamberton.
The Chargers bombed away, tallying 15 ace serves in the match. The aggressive serving also kept RRC’s offense out of system for much of the night.
The Falcons were led at the service line by Maia Scheffler, who was 15-of-15 with an ace.
Tia Donkersloot finished with nine kills and three solo blocks. Ally Linder added five kills.
Natasha Erickson recorded 13 set assists. Scheffler finished with seven digs.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t battle back from an early deficit Tuesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to Adrian-Ellsworth at Mt. Lake.
The Dragons were able to keep the offensive pressure on the Wolverines in the first two sets. However, MLAC was able to open a lead in the third set before AE rallied from a nine-point deficit for a 25-22 win, closing out the match.
Kylie Phommachan went 10-of-10 serving with an ace for the Wolverines. Reagan Pedersen was 9-of-10 with an ace.
Brie Anacker had a team-high 10 kills. Ashlyn Pfeiffer and Elyza Buller each had five kills.
Pedersen had a team-high 12 set assists. Phithsada Phoumivong finished with 16 digs.
