Windom Area Schools Superintendent Jamie Frank gave the first enrollment report of the 2024-25 school year and the School Board also approved the preliminary 2025 levy at Monday’s board meeting.
Levy information
Peggy Pfeffer, the district’s business manager, said that each year, the school authorizes the maximum levy to ensure the district receives all of its state aid if adjustments are made. Certifying a set dollar amount freezes the ceiling as changes continue to be made until they certify the final levy in December.
The most recent levy report from Minnesota Department of Education predicts the levy will increase by 12.1%, mainly due to an increase in property values in Cottonwood County and also due to the new voluntary Pre-K seats that were awarded to the district.
