The state’s third-ranked Class AAA team had Windom’s defense on the run all night Thursday, as Marshall cruised to a 3-0 victory at Windom.
The Tigers’ relentless attack led to the Eagles piling up 45 digs in three sets. Marshall also fired 11 ace serves at the Eagles in the match.
Windom tried to counter on offense, holding off the Tigers until the late stages of the opening set. But Marshall was able to pull away late in each of the final two sets to claim the win.
Ember Struck and Addison Colbert each had two ace serves in the loss for the Eagles.
Hannah Dauer finished with six kills. Colbert, Struck and Adison Hogan had five kills each.
Charlee Huska had a team-high 11 set assists. Haidyn Sammons finished with 12 digs.

Edgerton rallied from a 2-1 deficit, winning decisive close sets Thursday night to escape with a 3-2 victory over Red Rock Central in Lamberton.
The Dutchmen rallied to win the opening set 27-25. Then, after RRC won the next two sets, the Dutchmen claimed a 25-20 win, forcing a fifth set.
The deciding fifth set was back-and-forth throughout, with both teams fighting off match points before Edgerton scored two straight to seal an 18-16 win.
Keena Kosel was 21-of-21 serving for the Falcons with two aces. Natasha Erickson was 17-of-18 with an ace.
Ally Linder led RRC with 13 kills. Tia Donkersloot added 11 kills.
Erickson had 28 set assists. Maia Scheffler had a team-high 29 digs.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t maintain its momentum from the second set Thursday, as Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda surged to a 3-1 victory at Okabena.
After dropping the opening set, the Wolverines battled back, rallying late in the second set to claim a 27-25 victory.
But HLOF quickly seized momentum in set three, jumping to a commanding lead on its way to a 25-13 win. The Coyotes were able to win set four 25-19 to claim the win.
Phithsada Phoumivong went 18-of-20 serving with three aces for the Wolverines. Reagan Pedersen was 14-of-16 with three aces.
Ashlyn Pfeiffer had a team-high nine kills. Pedersen added seven kills. Pedersen had a team-high 19 set assists. Phoumivong finished with 20 digs.
