The Wings United girls soccer team put up a strong battle against defending conference champion Waseca Tuesday, but the Bluejays were able to pull away late for a 4-1 victory at Waseca.
Waseca got off to a quick start, scoring in the opening 20 minutes of the game, but the Wings were able to tie things up when Fernanda Zepeda blasted a free kick over the wall of defenders and past the Waseca keeper.
The tie was short-lived, though, as Waseca netted a second goal after a scramble in front of the net. The Bluejays then tacked on two more goals early in the second half to seal the win.

A tiebreaking goal in the second half Tuesday night lifted Waseca to a 1-0 victory over the Wings United boys soccer team at Madelia.
The Wings were able to withstand offensive pressure from the Bluejays until into the second half, when a Bluejay rush up the field resulted in a goal off a quick pass.
The Wings tried to counter but were unable to break through the Waseca defense, ending the game with a tough loss.
