The Windom Eagles battled adversity Thursday night before rallying to defeat Worthington 3-2 in a Big South Conference volleyball match at Windom.
After a dominant third set to take a 2-1 lead, the Eagles built a commanding early lead in the fourth set, only to see the Trojans rally. Worthington fought off four match points before winning set four 27-25.
The Trojans then jumped to a 3-0 lead to start the fifth set, but the Eagles settled in and pulled away, claiming a 15-9 win.
The night included a milestone for the Eagles, as senior Charlee Huska recorded her 1,000th career set assist in the second set. She finished the night with 23 set assists and was 26-of-26 serving with four aces.
Hadley Sammons went 16-of-20 serving with four aces, while Hannah Dauer was 26-of-26 with three aces.
Addison Colbert had a team-high 13 kills. Dauer had 11 kills and Adison Hogan finished with 10.
Haidyn Sammons had a team-high 20 digs.

Red Rock Central put together a solid night from the service line Thursday, sweeping its way to a 3-0 victory over Hills-Beaver Creek at Hills.
The Falcons jumped out to early leads in the opening two sets, holding on late for wins. RRC then rallied from an early deficit to capture the third set.
Abby Evans paced the Falcons from the service line, going 23-of-23 with three aces. Maia Scheffler was 17-of-18 with an ace.
At the net, Tia Donkersloot led RRC with 14 kills. Evans added nine kills. Natasha Erickson finished with 35 set assists. Scheffler had a team-high 14 digs.
