The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced last week that nearly $10 million in federal assistance has been provided to support disaster recovery from the June and July flooding in parts of Minnesota.
FEMA noted that more than $7 million in individual and households program grants had been awarded to eligible homeowners and renters in 19 Minnesota counties, including $3.8 million to pay for home repair or replacement and $3.2 million to help pay for property replacement or other disaster-related expenses.
Cottonwood County Emergency Manager Paul Johnson estimates that nearly $1 million has been paid out to Cottonwood County residents.
