Jenny Quade has announced she is seeking to be the next mayor of Windom and is putting her hat in the ring for a three-person race that will be decided at the polls in November.
“I’ve always thought about running for mayor,” Quade said, “but I wanted to get the knowledge first. And I feel like during this six years I’ve been serving on the council, trying to learn all the different departments within the city, budgeting union negotiations, what I’ve been doing is gaining that knowledge and experience.”
Quade reflected that she now feels that she has a good base of knowledge to operate from as she campaigns for mayor, and wants to keep a humble approach.
