Windom EDA Director Tiffany Lamb has been working the numbers and says she conservatively estimates at least $18.6 million in private property damages from June’s record flood in Windom.
Lamb used FEMA’s methodology in her calculations and with an estimated flood loss potential of nearly $30,000 for three inches of water in an average-sized home and nearly $80,000 for 18 inches of water.
“I did not include any unreported damages in this estimate, though we know all damage was not reported,” Lamb stated.
