Windomnet cable and internet service was disrupted today, but a broken cable was located and the system is being restored and running on backup until repairs are complete.
Windomnet manager Jeff Dahna sent out information on the problem which states, “The local Minneapolis TV station feed outage was caused by a damaged fiber optic cable in Belle Plaine, MN that was severely kinked.”
A repair crew straightened it out and service was restored, but to accomplish a more permanent fix, the fiber needs to be replaced, Dahna informed.
As of 3:35 p.m. today, Dahna reported, “We see our service connection to Minneapolis is now passing traffic and the local Minneapolis TV stations are back.”
