The first day of the filing period for city and school offices started with a bang in Windom on Tuesday.
Three candidates filed for election to the position of mayor in the city of Windom on the opening day of filing.
Filing for the position were incumbent mayor Dominic Jones, current city council member Jenny Quade and newcomer Hilary Mathis.
No candidates had filed yet for the council seats in either Ward 1 or Ward 2.
Windom School Board had one candidate file on opening day, as current board chair Joel Bordewyk filed for re-election. Four seats on the school board are up for election this year.
Filing continues through 5 p.m. on Aug. 13.
