A special guest speaker will be on hand at the Windom Community Center Monday, informing the public, educators and parents about substance abuse prevention training.
Jermaine Galloway, known as the Tall Cop, will inform those in attendance about the latest alcohol, vaping and drug trends affecting our youth.
The free event begins at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Corrections and Cottonwood County Probation.
Cottonwood County Probation Career Agent Jenny Quade, who has worked as a probation officer for 20 years, said she has seen a lot over the years when it comes to drug use.
“I have seen many changes over that time in the use and abuse of marijuana and many other drugs,” she said. “With recent law changes, many things are changing in the community as well as the court and legal system. Education is key.”
