Flooding forces some park closures

While flood waters have consumed portions of Windom (mainly Island Park, which is completely closed), the rest of Cottonwood County seems relatively un-phased as of last Friday afternoon.

Cottonwood County Public Works Director Nick Klisch said there were a couple of exceptions, with Pat’s Grove near Heron Lake and Mountain Park near Mt. Lake being closed indefinitely.

Klisch said both parks probably had roads nearby that were impacted by the floods, but there are no major facilities in either one that would be impacted.

Klisch said Talcot Park in western Cottonwood County had some flood issues, with the beach area being covered in water.
