Golf course partially reopens

While a large swath of the course remains underwater, the Windom Country Club has reopened for play with a modified seven-hole layout.

Course Superintendent Cody Sebring said that water went over the dikes along Holes 6 and 8. The result left all of Hole 6 underwater, with no access to Hole 7. Large portions of Holes 1, 2, 8 and 9 also are underwater.

Sebring said that the course has cut an eight-inch cup into Hole 1 to play as a par three. Hole 2 will tee off from the middle of the regular fairway, leaving it as a par three. Holes 3 (par five), 4 (par three) and 5 (par five) can be played as normal. Hole 8 has an eight-inch cup in the fairway, leaving a par three. Hole 9 has a tee box in the middle of the normal fairway, creating a par three.
