Local businesses/events adjust for flooding

Updated 8:00 a.m. Wed., June 26

Citizen Online has learned that several local businesses have made significant adjustments related to this week’s historic flood in Windom.
Those adjustments were made out of an abundance of concern for customers, the businesses and, in many cases, employees who are battling floodwaters at their own homes. We urge any business that wants to get a flood-related message to their customers to contact Citizen Publishing and we will put the message online at www.windomnews.com at no charge as soon as possible.
Please send your messages, typed as you want them posted, to: trevors@windomnews.com. Be specific and include a phone number, in case we need clarification about your message.
We will kick things off with a message from American Family Insurance in Windom.
• American Family Insurance has closed its Windom office for the day and moved its entire operation to its Mt. Lake office during this flood situation. Everything will operate as usual with no disruptions anticipated. If you call the Windom American Family office, your call will be automatically forwarded to the Mt. Lake office.
• Sanford Clinic Windom will be closed today due to flood warning.  We will consolidate with Mountain Lake Clinic today and anticipate to return to normal operations Thursday.  Please call (507) 427-3332 to schedule an appointment in Mountain Lake if you would like to be seen today.
• Southwest Hearing Technologies in Windom will be closed for Wednesday June 26 to keep the staff and patients safe as much as we can. Their Worthington location will be open to answer any phone calls or concerns. The number is 800-545-4407 or the local Windom line will transfer at 507-831-2428.
