Interviews are Monday for county attorney

Cottonwood County could move one step closer to filling a critical department head position next week.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Cottonwood County Commissioners, County Coordinator Kelly Thongvivong told the board that interviews would be held Monday for two candidates looking to fill the vacant county attorney position.

The county attorney position has been vacant since early March, when Nick Anderson resigned to take a position with the state of Minnesota’s public defenders office in Worthington.

Since then, county attorney duties have been split between Jackson and Murray counties.

More from Tuesday afternoon’s meeting will appear in the June 26 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
