Hydrologist says river is OK for now

Among the hottest topics, locally is high water on the Des Moines River, following a fairly wet spring.

Area Hydrologist Tom Kresko of the Minnesota DNR office in Windom noted the river level, which measured 17.32 feet on Tuesday, is dropping.

“It peaked in Jackson on May 24,” Kresko said. “And it peaked here (in Windom) on May 27.”
