SECTION GOLF: Eagle girls open section play

Section 3AA Girls Day One

The Windom Eagle girls played with an incomplete team for the opening day of the Section 3AA Tournament, held Wednesday at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake.

Minnewaska Area led the girls team standings after the opening day, scoring a 333.

The Eagle girls were led by Ada Lund, who finished tied for 28th, individually, with a 104. She advanced to the second day of the tournament.

Ali Lund shot a 106, missing the cut for the second day of the tourney by a single stroke. Olivia Joyce finished with a 119.

Section 3A Day One

The Lakeview boys and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls held the team lead in the Section 3A golf tournament after the first day of action at GreatLife Golf Course in Worthington.

Lakeview’s boys shot a 345 team total. Red Rock Central placed eighth in the team standings with a score of 409.

For the girls, RTR held a slim one-shot lead after shooting a 410 on the first day. RRC played with an incomplete team.

The Falcon boys had one individual qualify for the second day of the tournament. Keagan Steen finished the first day tied for 12th, individually, after shooting a 92. Gavin Willardson shot a 100, followed by Crisandy Maliksi with a 105 and Kullen Steen with a 112.

RRC did not have any girls advance to the second day of the tournament. Josie Timm led the Falcons with a 124. Ayranna Weber shot a 125.
