TUESDAY GOLF: Wolverine boys win Red Rock title

Red Rock Conference Tourney

The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys golf team captured its first Red Rock Conference championship Tuesday after its performance at the conference tournament, played at GreatLife Golf Course in Worthington.

The team conference title was determined by the combined team scores from the three conference events, as well as the final tournament. MLAC’s boys finished second at Tuesday’s tournament with a 367, but edged Southwest Christian/Edgerton for the team overall title, finishing the four events with a score of 1,446. SWCE had a 1,454 score over the four events. Red Rock Central finished seventh as a team with 1,655 overall.

For the girls, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton won the outright title with an overall score of 1,536. MLAC was third, scoring 1,990.

For the All-Conference team, players used their three best scores from the four 18-hole events.

For MLAC’s boys, Grant Oakland placed second, overall, with a three-event score of 255. Joey Faber was fourth with a 262 and Maxton Fast finished 10th with a 275.

For the Wolverine girls, Nevaeh Ott earned all-conference honors, finishing seventh with a three-event score of 302.

As for Tuesday’s round, SWCE’s boys shot a 359 to finish first. MLAC was second with 367 while RRC took seventh with a 422.

For the girls, RTR won the tourney with a 383. MLAC was fourth with 481. RRC played with an incomplete team.

Grant Oakland led MLAC, finished tied for third with an 89. Layken Marcy scored a 91, followed by Faber with a 82 and Landen Rempel with a 95.

Keagan Steen led RRC with a 100. Gavin Willardson shot a 101, followed by Crisandy Maliksi with a 110 and Reese Berg with a 111.

For the girls, Ott led MLAC with a 102. Amiyah Oakland shot a124, followed by Khya Boldt with a 126 and Danika Gohr with a 129.

Aryanna Weber led RRC with a 108. Josie Timm shot 130 and Raegan Carter scored a 158.
