TRACK: Eagle boys place at Howard Wood

Howard Wood Dakota Relays

Windom had one placewinning performance at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays over the weekend in Sioux Falls.

The Eagle boys 4×400 relay team of Job Ogeka, Aaden Nauman, Thomas Green and Elias Jensen finished eighth with a time of 3:35.52.

The team of Braylen Lyons, Green, Jensen and Nauman placed 13th in the 4×800 relay (8:29.74). Ogeka finished 15th in the triple jump (41-2¾). Kaylee Walklin finished 25th in the 3,200 (11:37.40) and 31st in the 1,600 (5:22.07).

Sentinel Relays

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey and Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin took part in the Sentinel Relays Friday in Fairmont.

MLAC’s boys finished third in the Class A field with 95 points, while MCWBO was sixth with 76. Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda won the team title with 150 points.

The MCWBO girls were fourth with 90 points. MLAC was sixth with 81½ points. St. Clair won the team title with 144 points.

MLAC’s boys were led by Preston Xayachak, who won the long jump (19-7¼) and triple jump (40-3). MLAC’s 4×400 relay team of Chase Anacker, Ethan Schroeder, Xayachak and Kody Wassman added a win (3:38.35) and Schroeder took first in the 1,600 (4:36.97) and the sprint medley relay (3:44.75).

Anacker added a runner-up finish in the long jump (18-3¼). Wassman was second in the 400 (51.44).

MCWBO was led by Berent Kosbab, who won the 200 (23.41) and was second in the 100 (11.77). Ryan Pierson was first in the 3,200 (10:00.22) and third in the 1,600 (4:45.40). The team of Kosbab, Talon Kettner, Carlos Rodriguez and Grant Koehnen was second in the sprint medley relay (3:54.58).

For the girls, MCWBO was led by runner-up finishes from Mylee Larson in the discus (88-11) and Allie Engebretsen in the long jump (14-5¾). The team of Maddison Lyon, Katelynn Kennedy, Evelynn Christenson and Katie Hartke was second in the 4×800 relay (11:29.12).

MLAC got a first-place finish from Meghan Johnson in the 3,200 (12:43.17). Gracie Peters placed first in the 400 (1:04.78). The team of Hannah Beyer, Theresa Nwaiga, Lydia Rete and Johnson placed first in the 4×800 relay (11:28.16).
