GOLF: Wolverine boys win Red Rock meet

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey’s boys and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s girls claimed top honors at the second Red Rock Conference full-league meets Thursday. The girls played at Rolling Hills near Westbrook, while the boys played at the Mt. Lake Golf Course.

MLAC’s boys shot a 351 on the home course for the win. Red Rock Central was seventh with a 421.

For the girls, RTR won with a 386 score. MLAC was fourth with a 490. RRC played incomplete.

MLAC’s boys were led by Joey Faber, who placed second in the meet with an 82. Grant Oakland shot an 84 for fourth place. Maxton Fast scored a 91 and Layken Marcy shot a 94.

Keagan Steen led RRC’s boys with a 90. Gavin Willardson shot a 103, followed by Crisandy Maliksi with a 113 and Reese Berg with a 115.

For the MLAC girls, Nevaeh Ott led the way, finishing sixth overall with a 98. Paige Wilson shot a 130, followed by Khya Boldt with a 135 and Danika Gohr with a 146.

Aryanna Weber led the RRC girls with a 116. Josie Timm shot a 125 and Raegan Carter had a 130.
