TRACK: Eagle boys win at home

Windom Invite

The Windom boys captured the team title and the Eagle girls were fourth Thursday at the Windom Invitational.

Windom’s boys finished with 130 team points. Worthington was second with 115.

The Eagle girls scored 72 points. Redwood Valley won the girls title with 182 points.

Individually for the boys, Cole Purrington won the shot put (41-6¾) and was second in the discus (106-4). Kevin Bleess won the 200 (23.79) and was second in the long jump (19-6½). Job Ogeka won the triple jump (40-7). Braylen Lyons took second in the 400 (56.47) and Aaden Nauman was second in the 800 (2:10.29) and the 1,600 (4:51.88).

Windom’s team of Bleess, Lyons, Thomas Green and Nauman won the 4×400 relay (3:44.94). The team of Lyons, Elias Jensen, Bryce Green and Caelen Ralston was second in the 4×800 (9:30.81).

Windom’s girls were paced by Kaylee Walklin, who won the 800 (2:33.14). Toria Robillard finished second in the 400 (1:09.27 and pole vault (8-6). The team of Aubri Spielman, Haidyn Sammons, Robillard and Walklin won the 4×400 relay (4:42.94) while the team of Walklin, Hailee Hillbrands, Mackenzi Meyeraan and Robillard was second in the 4×800 (11:29.95).

JWP Invite

The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys were fifth and the girls eighth at the JWP Invite, held Thursday in Janesville.

MLAC’s boys scored 67 points. Maple River won the meet with 136½. The MLAC girls scored 41 points. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton won the meet with 135½.

MLAC’s boys were led by Kody Wassman, who won the 800 (2:05.23) and 1,600 (4:43.79). Ethan Schroeder was second in the 800 (2:06.53). Chase Anacker was second in the long jump (18-8¼). MLAC’s team of Anacker, Schroeder, Caleb Klassen and Wassman won the 4×400 relay (3:41.07).

For the girls, Gracie Peters placed first in the 400 (1:06.28). The team of Theresa Nwaiga, Lydia Rete, Hannah Beyer and Peters was second in the 4×800 relay (11:16.13).

Laker Invite

Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central’s girls were 13th and the boys were 14th at the Laker Invite, held Thursday in Cottonwood.

The Charger girls finished with 19 points. MACCRAY/RCW won the meet with 147½. The WWG/RRC boys finished with six points. Montevideo won the team title with 161.

WWG/RRC’s girls were led by Abby Wiggins, who took third in the pole vault (8-0). Ally Linder was third in the shot put (31-5½) and Anna Byers was fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.65).

For the boys, Bowen Hesse finished fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.86).
