TUESDAY BASEBALL: Eagles fall at Worthington

Windom 000 001 0 = 1-2-1
Worthington 101 000 x = 2-1-2

The Windom Eagle baseball team’s bats were silenced Tuesday, as the Eagles dropped a 2-1 decision at Worthington.

The two teams combined for just three hits in the game, but the Trojans capitalized on early scoring chances. Worthington scored on a double steal in the first inning, then added an RBI single in the third.

The lone Eagle run came in the top of the sixth. Adam Perrizo drew a leadoff walk, advanced on a sacrifice bunt and scored on back-to-back wild pitches.

Quintin Tietz and Hunter Palm had the lone hits for the Eagles.

Palm took the tough pitching loss, holding the Trojans to a single hit in three innings. He walked five and struck out one.
