Spring Pops Concert at Windom High School tenders great performances

There was an excellent crowd that showed up for the Spring Pops Concert in the Gold Gym at the Windom High School on Monday night.

The concert started with band numbers by the Eagle Stage Band, the Gold Band and some combined performances. All were led by band director Jamie Pohlmann.

Pieces like “Encanto” were all well received as the musicians worked in harmony with each other featuring clarinets, trombones, trumpets, flutes and percussion.

The seniors who were playing in their last concert were recognized, and both the boys and girls pop choral groups sang engaging musical renditions. There was a male cover of “Proud Mary” by John Fogerty, complete with fur faux jackets, and a comical and fun interpretation by the young ladies of “It’s Raining Men,” the Paul Schaffer-penned hit from 1982 that was first made public by The Weather Girls and later made famous by The Pointer Sisters.
