Light turnout for township meetings and only Delton township increases levy amount

Cottonwood County township meetings and elections wrapped up last Tuesday night with some levy news as well.

None of the levy amounts were decreased this year and almost all of the townships voted for the tax levy to remain the same for its citizens.

Delton township was the exception as they increased their levy amount from $65,000 to $80,000 which is a $15,000 increase for taxpayers there.

Southbrook ($40,000), Selma ($58,000) and Delton ($65,000) townships previously had the lowest levy amounts in the county. Amboy township at $75,000 now takes Delton’s spot as third-lowest. The highest levy amount in the county belongs to Midway township at $125,000.
