Structure fire in Jeffers causes big damage

There was a house fire in Jeffers on Saturday evening that created lots of heavy damage.

In the early evening on Saturday, probably between five and six o’clock, a blaze broke out in Jeffers. The fire apparently started in a camper that was next to the house and then traveled to the house. It is believed to be the home of Keith Casey.

There were no injuries, but both the Storden and Jeffers Fire Departments responded to the call and fought the blaze to get it under control. It was windy and there was the danger of the fire spreading to other roofs or homes if it was not put down.

The Westbrook Ambulance Service also responded to the scene of the fire.
