TUESDAY GIRLS BASKETBALL: Eagles race past Tigers

The Windom girls basketball team closed the regular season strong Tuesday night, building an early lead on its way to a 73-50 victory at Springfield.

The Eagles used strong outside shooting to take an early advantage, hitting six three-pointers as a team in the opening half to take a 19-point lead.

Windom then slashed its way to the hoop much of the second half, with Hannah Dauer and Haidyn Sammons combining for 27 of the Eagles’ 33 second-half points.

Dauer finished with 25 points in the win. Sammons added 23 points for the Eagles.
