Springfield 46-32 = 78
Windom 33-25 = 58

The Windom boys basketball team fell behind late in the first half and never recovered Tuesday, falling 78-58 to Springfield at Windom.

The Tigers were able to capitalize on a cold shooting night for the Eagles, as Windom went just 2-of-25 from three-point range for the game. That opened the door for the Tigers to race to a double-digit lead late in the first half and build on the lead down the stretch.

Drew Rothenberger led the Eagles with 16 points in the loss. Elliot Serreyn and Eli Lund each added 14 points.

HLOF 31-23 = 54
MLAC 34-23 = 57

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey remained in the Red Rock Conference title picture Tuesday, battling its way to a 57-54 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda at Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines had good balance in the opening half, taking a three-point halftime lead. But the Coyotes were able to hang around in the second half, limiting MLAC’s scoring options. The Wolverines were able to counter with solid defense, holding HLOF scoreless for a six-minute stretch in the second half.

But a pair of late buckets from Alex Karschnik, a hoop from Carter Olson and a late free throw helped MLAC run its lead to six, and HLOF closed the gap to three on a three-pointer at the horn.

Olson led the Wolverines with 17 points in the win. Karschnik added 12 points.

AE 25-21 = 46
RRC 31-37 = 68

Red Rock Central surged on offense in the second half Tuesday, pulling away for a 68-46 victory over Adrian-Ellsworth at Lamberton.

RRC held a six-point lead at halftime, but was able to clamp down on defense in the second half, limiting the Dragon offense.

Meanwhile, the Falcons attacked the lane in the second half, with Ashton Holmen, Jayden Lang and Corey Arkell combining for 26 of the Falcons’ 37 second-half points.

Holmen led the Falcons with 14 points. Lang and Arkell each scored 12 and Isaac Simonson added 10 in the win.
