GIRLS BASKETBALL: Red-hot Jaguars sink Eagles

T/ML/GHEC 42-33 = 75

Miscues and a cold shooting night combined to doom the Windom girls basketball team Thursday, as the Eagles fell 75-63 to Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain in Windom.

The Eagles shot just 29% from the field, compared to 58% for the Jaguars. The Jaguars shot equally well from inside and outside in the game, going 58% from three-point range and two-point range.

The Jaguars were able to build a lead halfway through the first half. Windom got the deficit down to two before the Jaguars finished the half with a 12-2 run.

The Jaguars then blew the game open early in the second half, stretching the lead to as large as 22 points.

Hannah Dauer led the Eagles with 15 points. Haidyn Sammons scored 14 and Tristyn Maras added 10.

HBC 28-29 = 57

The Patriots held the Wolverines to four field goals in the opening half, building an 18-point halftime lead.

The Wolverines tried to battle back in the second half, but couldn’t break through against the Patriot defense.
