TUESDAY BOYS BASKETBALL: Arrows roll past Eagles; Naas records 500th win for Wolverines

Windom 40-39 = 79
Pipestone 59-55 = 114

The Windom Eagle boys basketball team ran into an offensive buzzsaw Tuesday night, as Pipestone erupted for a 114-79 victory at Pipestone.

The Arrows shot 47% from the field and hit 16 three-pointers in the game, led by senior Rysley Borman, who hit eight treys and finished with 49 points. That put him over 1,000 points for his career.

The Eagle offense shot 36% from the field and 29% from three-point range, which prevented the Eagles from keeping pace with the red-hot Arrows.

Drew Rothenberger led the Eagles with 19 points. Job Ogeka scored 18. Eli Lund and Elliot Serreyn each added 13 in the loss.

MLAC 30-33 = 63
RRC 20-31 = 51

A 15-4 run to end the game allowed Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey to claim a 63-51 victory over Red Rock Central Tuesday in Lamberton.

The win gave Wolverine head coach Shawn Naas the 500th victory of his coaching career.

MLAC started strong, as Carter Olson scored 16 first-half points, leading the Wolverines to a 10-point halftime lead.

RRC battled back by going inside. Isaac Simonson and Corey Arkell combined for 20 second-half points, as the Falcons were able to trim the deficit down to one point with just over four minutes to go.

But the Wolverines regrouped. A pair of Kody Wassman three-pointers and buckets from Ashton Toll and Alex Karschnik helped the Wolverines close the game with a 15-4 run.

Olson led the Wolverines with 19 points in the win. Wassman scored 11 and Toll added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Simonson led the Falcons with 18 points and 18 rebounds in the loss. Arkell and Jayden Lang each scored 10 points.
