Citizen collects statewide contest awards

The Cottonwood County Citizen received three awards and recognition at the 157th annual Minnesota Newspaper Association Convention in Brooklyn Park.

During last week’s MNA Better Newspaper Contest awards banquet, the Citizen collected three awards — including one first place award.

Most notably, this was the seventh straight year that judges ranked the Citizen’s editorial page among Minnesota’s top three (for similar size papers).

“We are so happy to have received these awards and the statewide recognition that goes with it,” said Trevor Slette, Citizen publisher. “I’m very proud of our entire staff and all of the hard work that goes into making these newspapers award-worthy and most of all for serving all of our readers.”
