The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team finished eighth in the standings and had four placewinners at the Big South Conference Tournament, held Friday in Jackson.
The Cobras finished with 47½ team points. Marshall won the team title with 236½ points.
Individually, the Cobras were led by senior Preston Xayachak, who finished second at 114 pounds. Xayachak won a decision in the semifinals before dropping a 4-2 decision to Miklo Hernandez of Pipestone in the finals.
At 107 pounds, Matthew Voehl placed fourth. Voehl dropped the third-place match on a 15-5 major decision.
Kameron Koerner placed fifth at 127 pounds and Tucker Renquist finished sixth at 139 pounds.
The two girls on the Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team traveled to Harrisburg, S.D., Saturday for a girls tournament.
Mareena Jepsen placed sixth at 165 pounds, finishing the day with a 1-3 record. Jepsen won her opening match, but lost in the semifinals and lost twice in the wrestlebacks.
Zaria Harrington went 0-2 in the 185-pound bracket.
