MBA 1-1-4 = 6
Windom Area 1-1-1 = 3

The Windom Area boys hockey team stumbled down the stretch Friday night, dropping a 6-3 decision to Morris-Benson Area at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles answered each of the first two Storm goals. After MBA scored 1:52 into the game, the Eagles got on the board at the 11:02 mark of the opening period, as seventh-grader Daniel Staples won a scramble in front of the net and shoved in his first varsity goal.

In the second, MBA scored at the 10:42 mark of the period, but the Eagles again answered, as Sonny Heil netted a power play goal with 1:52 left in the period.

But the Storm came out firing to start the third period, scoring four goals in the first 7:52 of the final period to take command of the game.

Wriley Haugen netted a shorthanded goal for the Eagles’ final goal of the game.

Both teams finished with 33 shots on goal. Goalie Adam Dahna finished with 27 saves in the loss.
