BOYS BASKETBALL: Wolverines top Edgerton, Falcons fall

The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys basketball team was sharp from the field and controlled the glass Thursday night, rolling to a 73-41 victory over Edgerton at Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines shot 43% from the field and 58% from two-point range in the game. The Wolverines also pulled down 50 rebounds in the win, including 19 offensive boards.

Four Wolverines scored in double figures in the game, led by Grant Oakland with 16 points. Carter Olson scored 12 points and Grant Regier and Alex Karschnik each added 11 points in the win.

RRC 22-25 = 47

Hills-Beaver Creek pulled out to a lead late in the first half Thursday night and held on the rest of the way, claiming a 59-47 win over Red Rock Central at Lamberton.

The Patriots held the Falcon offense in check in the opening half, using a late run to establish the lead. HBC then hit a long three-pointer at the buzzer to take a 13-point halftime advantage.

The Falcons were able to whittle into the lead early in the second half, but key buckets by the Patriots helped HBC maintain the lead throughout the final 18 minutes.

Jayden Lang led RRC with 19 points in the loss. Isaac Simonson finished with 12 points and 20 rebounds in the loss.
