Second tranche of state aid arrives in Windom

The second tranche of money granted by the state to Windom has arrived and will be used as a loan to help Windom Apartments LLC pay bills.

City Administrator Steve Nasby said the state has released another $1.3 million of the promised money and this will be loaned to the local developer to help pay money they owe to contractors for work done up until Sept. 30 of 2023.

Previously, the city got a tranche for $2.4 million which was distributed to the developer to pay contractors for work dating back to the spring season when HyLife went belly up, leaving the developer in a financing boondoggle.
