GIRLS HOCKEY: Eagles fall to New Ulm

The Windom Area girls hockey team couldn’t shake off an early deficit Friday night, dropping a 6-1 decision to New Ulm at the Windom Arena.

New Ulm scored on two of its four shots in the opening period and built a 4-0 lead after two periods.

Windom Area got its only goal of the game 3:33 into the third period, when Reagan Haugen won a scramble for the puck in front of the net and stuffed home a goal. New Ulm later tacked on two insurance goals to seal the win.

New Ulm outshot the Eagles 36-22 for the game. Goalie Lilly McNea finished with 14 saves. Fiona Robillard added 16 saves.
